5 x 100

Over the last few years, I've listened to these five records over a hundred times.

Father Figure

I stumbled on The Making of Wash and was hooked. I really liked Crop Circles back in 2019, but hadn’t thought much about Jon Bellion since. Turns out he’s had a wild handful of years. And then he dropped Father Figure, so good.

My Mind Wanders and Sometimes Leaves Completely

Before Lola Young landed on scene in the US, she released bunch of singles that led to My Mind Wanders. It’s a moody, emotional record that has countless great moments. Definitely one you can listen to from start to finish many times over.

Circles

When Good News was released, I wasn’t paying attention. But then I watched the video over and over a year or so later. Then I did the same for Circles. Then I probably pushed back tears inexplicably and went for a hike.

Actual Life 2 (February 2 - October 15 2021)

In 2023 Spotify introduced me to Fred Again.. via a playlist. That led me to his Actual Life series. Although all of them are great, this one has the most songs on repeat.

2012

In 2022, I spent a week alone in Tennessee hiking trails to a dozen different waterfalls. It was slow. It was calming. It was exactly what I needed. The soundtrack to that week was Tom Day. How’d I find this random artist from Australia? No idea.
